Vantage Point 13 brings six artists together for a new exhibition exploring how documentary photography can evolve beyond traditional forms of storytelling.
Curated by Sara Al Mheiri and Osemudiamen Ekore of Sharjah Art Foundation, the exhibition brings together newly commissioned works developed through sustained conversations with the artists.
Luisa Dörr, Latifa AlBokhari and Sathish Kumar turn to portraiture and observation to explore connections between people, land and memory.
Their work reflects on how images are shaped by relationships, context and the circumstances in which they are created.
Adam Rouhana, Guanyu Xu and Maheder Haileselassie take a different route, examining absence, rupture, conflict and histories that have been interrupted or erased.
Across the exhibition, photography becomes less about presenting a fixed truth and more about questioning how meaning is constructed.
Large-scale prints, installations and spatial interventions push the medium beyond the conventional photograph.
