More than 200 testing centres set up in the two emirates.

UAE public school students and staff will be able to undergo COVID-19 PCR tests free-of-charge at more than 200 testing centres ahead of the new academic year.

Available from 25 August to 20 September, 189 and 37 testing centers will be set up at schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively according to the public schools’ regulator, Emirates Schools Establishment.

The news comes after the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced on Tuesday (23 August) that all students in the UAE aged 12 and above, as well as educational and administrative staff would need to undergo a negative PCR test 96 hours before the first day of the school term on Monday 29 August.

Vaccinated and unvaccinated students and staff will be allowed to travel on school trips provided they present a green pass on the Al Hosn app.
