The Expo-Sciences International takes place in Abu Dhabi from 24-26 September bringing together 1,500 youths from 58 countries.
If you have a child who’s into STEAM subjects, an international science fair so big is coming town this September that’s right up his/her alley! The MILSET Expo-Sciences International (ESI) 2019 will bring together children and young people aged 9-25, educators, and innovators for the largest global exhibition promoting scientific collaboration. The educational forum will feature discussion panels and provide networking opportunities among aspiring scientists from around the world and will take place from 24-26 September 2019 at ADNEC. This year’s edition will be the second time the expo is held in Abu Dhabi after a successful event in 2013.
Participants in ESI 2019 from all over the world will arrive in Abu Dhabi to present, compare, and discuss science projects devised and created by youths across 13 different project categories. These categories are biology, behavioural and social sciences, chemistry, computer science, earth science, energy and transport, engineering, environmental analyses, and environmental management, electric and mechanical technology, mathematical science, medicine and health, physics and astronomy and technology and biotechnology.
ESI 2019, organised by ACTVET, will provide opportunities to promote cross-cultural relationships between youth, institutions and science educators by way of sharing research, technical and social projects through the various workshops, cultural excursions, seminars and activities as part of the event’s programme. The Young Citizens’ Conference will be held during the event and will debate artificial intelligence, to create a space for youth to discuss views on new and trending technologies.
The event is organized in collaboration with MILSET, an international non-profit organization committed to advancing STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) education and scientific knowledge for youth, through scientific fairs and congresses.
His Excellency Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director General of ACTVET, said “One of our goals for organising this forum is to generate enough opportunities for all science students and enthusiasts to benefit from the various workshops and events taking place between September 24 and 26, and therefore the invitation is open to schools, universities, institutions and experts to participate in this major global event and they can register for free through the website,” said Al Shamsi.
Roberto Hidalgo, MILSET President, said “We are thrilled to have ESI return to Abu Dhabi for a second time for the largest gathering of budding scientific talent. ESI contributes to the personal and technical development of aspiring scientists all over the world and creates energetic spaces, where students and educators are able to explore and discover new ideas and satisfy their passion for problem-solving and innovation. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many youths, and we hope that this event sparks inspiration and further interest in STEAM subjects in the UAE and around the world.”
ESI 2019 is a free event and is open to the public, including schools, universities and visitors in science-related fields. Registration for school excursions from 24-26 September can be done through the website www.esi2019.ae through September 19th.
