Repton School’s Murals at the Galleria Al Maryah Island

Back before everything shut, there was a bit of nice art news to share.

Repton School Abu Dhabi and the Galleria Al Maryah Island officially unveiled an art exhibition celebrating the Abu Dhabi community. Located on The Galleria’s south bridge between the destination’s dedicated Family Park and food court, the ceremony brought together students, teachers, parents, and members of the community.

Inspired by Melancholy and Slomoe’s ‘Flora and Fauna’ artwork (adorning the ceiling of the walkway), every student from Repton Abu Dhabi’s Foundation Stage through to the Senior School has created a digital flower based on their work.  The flowers have been integrated into original artworks created by some of the school’s most gifted and talented students.  All the artworks have been based on the interior architecture of the Galleria expansion, structural artwork by Charles Sheeler and Johnny Kerr along with the ‘colour half-tone’ work of Sigmar Polke.

The unveiling of the mural was a proud moment for every member of the Repton family, and one that has now become part of the cultural history of this country. Though you can’t see it in person right now, you can see it in pictures. We encourage everyone to see the amazing work of the Repton School Abu Dhabi’s talented pupils.
