Sounds from the roof
Kicking off the Middle East’s longest running open mic night, Rooftop Rhythms at The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). Co-presented with the official support of the US Embassy Abu Dhabi, the virtual rendition of the monthly open mic series takes place on the The Arts Center at NYUAD’s Facebook page. Rooftop Rhythms offers open registration for the open mic list on a first-come, first-served basis. Poets and performances can sign up via the Rooftop Rhythms Group Page on Facebook.

Forever blowing bubbles
It’s time to get all bubbly over at The Westin Abu Dhabi where you can raise a glass or two at their award-winning Bubbalicious Brunch. The menu is international and you could be tucking into fresh sushi and oysters while the live stations serve up roasts and grills. Love cheese then you’ll be glad to hear that there is more than 20 types of cheese to choose from. Sweet tooth alert: the dessert is simply packed with homemade chocolates, sweets, cakes, made-to-order crepes, ice cream and sorbets. This, of course, can be washed down with drinks from the reimagined signature drink stations while you soak in the musical sounds.

Turning Japanese
You don’t have to head to the Far East to eat some of the best Japanese fare around. Instead, head on over to Jumeirah at Etihad Towers where the award winning Japanese restaurant Tori No Su dishes up the authentic flavours of the Orient with the Nihon Hiru brunch. Kaiseki-trained chef Ando Takashi and his award winning team prepares you fabulous dishes for a rather exciting afternoon.

Head to the palatial The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and follow the winding path down to the beach, culminating at the grand entrance to Buddha-Beach Bar, where a sharing style brunch serves up multiple dishes from different countries and cities of the Pacific region. The brunch runs Friday afternoons and evenings.

All beached out
So you brunched Friday or stayed home to wind down after the long working week. Now it’s time to take those relaxation vibes even further by heading to Abu Dhabi’s latest beach, which opened two months ago, as part of the Mamsha Al Saadiyat Community. Lounge around under a parasol on the 1km of pristine beach. Each lounger has a table complete with QR code to scan so you’re served refreshing drinks as you soak up the Saturday sun.

Continuing the chill-out weekend, head to Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island and pick up a day pass that allows you to breakfast and lunch and raise a glass or three with free-flowing beverages.
