Stunning interactive kids’ zone opens at The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi

Entry to the zone is free of charge.

The Middle East’s largest marine exploring experience, The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi (TNA) has launched a new kids’ zone to inspire the next generation of Jacques Cousteaus.

Titled Bella and Rio’s Playground, the interactive kid’s zone will see little ones learn about the weird and wonderful creatures of the world in a fun and adventurous way thanks to a plethora of exciting games.

Kids can enjoy colouring their favourite animal and watch it come alive on the animated wall display as well as video map their own volcano, interact with the plankton, meet Khalid – the pearl diver persona – play with the ice-age interactive, learn through touch screens and signage guides, which has more than four different languages and experience 3D cladding on walls.

And best of all, kids will have the chance to say hello to Bella and Rio the aquarium’s beloved Hyacinth Macaws.

Speaking on the announcement, Paul Hamilton, General Manager of TNA said; “At The National Aquarium, we are always looking to develop new and exciting ways to educate young visitors on the everyday lives of our residents, and the Bella and Rio kidzone does just that with its fresh and engaging activities.

“The aquarium has always been envisioned as a wonderland for families to come and explore, enjoy, and engage their curiosity and we are even more certain that the launch of Bella and Rio’s playground will contribute to our success and growth as it serves as a hub of learning and laughter within The National Aquarium.”

Bella and Rio’s Playground, which is located in the Flooded Forest, is open to the public free of charge.

TNA is home to 46,000 animals which are spread across 11 zones; the Flooded Forest Zone which embraces Bella and Rio’s Playground emphasises the important role that rainforests play in the global ecosystem.
