The festival is the latest event to celebrate dates in the UAE.
The first edition of the Liwa Dates Festival and Auction in Liwa City in now open.
Running from 15 to 24 October, the festival aims to transfer knowledge and exchange expertise between farmers to grow the best and finest types of palms and fruits.
Fun for all the family, the festival will feature the International Dates Village, dates competitions on the most beautiful fruit basket, the most beautiful heritage sculpture and the model farm.

Taking place in the Festival Arena, the competitions will run alongside the corporate, social and private events including the Date Product Packaging Competition, the International Date, Olive and Moringa Peregrina Oil Competition, and the Drawing and Photography Competition, which all aim to raise awareness of the importance of agriculture, and various heritage activities.
The Liwa Dates Festival and Auction is the latest in dates celebratory events with the Liwa Dates Festival taking place in July, the most beautiful dates competition happening in Sharjah and the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival.
