Can you tell us a little about your background and journey starting a business in Dubai?

I have been working in real estate and second citizenship for more than a decade. Prior to this, I worked at the senior management level in three different real estate corporate giants.

My journey to starting a business in Dubai was a meticulously planned decision that considered all the various compliances, and the infrastructure needed to set up.

What led to your decision to start a business in Dubai, and how has the experience been so far?

The decision to set up business in Dubai aimed to cater to demand in this extremely popular market, and to have a strong presence in a globally popular city which is attracting global investors from all walks of life.

How has being an entrepreneur in Dubai influenced your connection to the community and your sense of belonging?

It’s too early in the day for me to have a well-established sense of belonging here and to feel embraced by the community. However, in my short stay in Dubai, I have begun considering the city as home and managed to make some amazing friends.

Could you highlight someone in Dubai who has played a significant role in supporting your business journey, and what impact did they have?

My partner and friend Himanshu Khandelwal. His impact is that of a trusted and secure collaborator, with his company and mine adding value to both businesses.

My dear friends and ardent supporters Rasna and Manish Dureja have seen me through several highs and lows, and always given me a safe space to express myself and have become my family in this city.

What do you appreciate most about conducting business in Dubai, and how does it contribute to your entrepreneurial journey?

I appreciate that as a businesswoman, Dubai has allowed me to reach my global goal. The clarity and ease of compliances make life easy.

What common misconception about starting a business in Dubai would you like to dispel based on your experience?

That money and financiers will appear magically when you start a business here. To all future business owners aiming to start a business in Dubai, please be aware that Dubai is an extremely mature market with several international businesses having a presence.

Competition is fierce, and new business owners should ensure they have a business plan, a clear strategy, and being willing to invest in infrastructure and good branding and marketing.

Share a memorable moment where you experienced the genuine hospitality and support of the Dubai community in your entrepreneurial endeavours.

A truly memorable moment in my real estate entrepreneurial journey occurred during a networking event in Dubai. I had just launched my property consultancy and was eager to connect with potential clients and collaborators.

To my surprise, seasoned professionals from the community approached me, offering valuable insights and sharing their own success stories.

One established agent even invited me to co-host a seminar, allowing me to showcase my expertise while gaining exposure.

Their genuine support and willingness to collaborate not only boosted my confidence but also solidified my belief in the vibrant, collaborative spirit of Dubai’s real estate community.
