Your chance to get active for 30 minutes a day for 30 days

Ready to get moving people?

Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is back, and it’s celebrating its 10th edition with a month-long programme packed with ways to get active across the city.

Running from 31 October to 29 November 2026, the annual fitness takeover is inviting everyone from serious gym-goers to people whose main form of exercise is walking to the fridge to take part.

The challenge is simple: 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days. That’s it. You can run, swim, cycle, stretch, dance, walk or try something completely new.

And you won’t be short of options.

This year’s programme will feature four major events: Dubai Run, Dubai Ride, Dubai Stand Up Paddle and Dubai Yoga, alongside Fitness Villages, Fitness Hubs and thousands of classes, activities and activations taking place across the emirate.

The flagship events offer something for different fitness levels, whether you fancy taking over Sheikh Zayed Road on foot, getting on two wheels or swapping the gym for a yoga mat.

Fitness Hubs will also provide free and accessible places to exercise, while Fitness Villages will bring even more activities and community sessions to the city.

DFC was launched in 2017 under the vision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum with the ambition of making physical activity part of everyday life in Dubai.

What started with 786,000 participants has grown considerably.

More than 16 million people have taken part across the first nine editions, with more than three million joining the challenge in 2025 alone.

The programme has also grown well beyond its original 30-day format. Dubai Run launched in 2019, followed by Dubai Ride in 2020, Dubai Stand Up Paddle in 2023 and Dubai Yoga in 2024.

There are now 30 Fitness Hubs across Dubai, giving residents more opportunities to stay active close to home.

You don’t need to be super-fit, own a wardrobe full of Lycra or know your burpees from your Bulgarian split squats. The whole point is simply to move for 30 minutes a day.

Whether you’re looking to get fitter, try a new activity or just spend more time outdoors, DFC is a pretty good excuse to get off the sofa.
