Celebrate the 15th Public Transport Day with Dubai RTA’s activities, prizes, competitions and more

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have long been working on better nol cards, roads and newer bus routes to improve transport in the emirate. And now, they’re marking the 15th Public Transport Day with a host of activities!

Observed annually on 1 November, this year the activities will run from 28 October to 1 November.

This year’s event is held under the theme “Good for you, Great for Dubai”.

Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Sector at the RTA, emphasised that the theme encourages residents and visitors to make Dubai a top city for living by using the RTA’s services, which include the metro, tram, public buses, marine transport, and options for soft mobility like bicycles and e-scooters.

Gear up for a series of exciting activities, competitions, and numerous prizes, with the RTA recognising the most frequent public transport users across six categories, awarding three winners in each.

The top winner will receive 1 million nol+ points, with runner-up prizes of 500,000 and 250,000 points.

New categories this year include the most frequent user since the event began in 2009, as well as specific categories for senior citizens and students.

Another highlight to keep an eye out for is the “Mysterious Man Challenge,” in partnership with the Arabian Radio Network (ARN).

Participants will search for a “Mysterious Man” at metro stations from 30 October to 1 November, with daily winners receiving AED 10,000. The final winner on Public Transport Day will also receive a 50-gramme gold bar.

Since its inception in 2009, Public Transport Day has encouraged residents to use public transport, supporting Dubai’s sustainability goals and enhancing the overall commuter experience.
