This valuable initiative aims to equip young riders with critical road safety knowledge

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is officially backing ‘Go With The Floooow,’ an innovative road safety programme designed to teach essential cycling skills to children aged three and above.

Launched at The Ripe Market in Academy Park, this lively initiative aims to equip young riders with critical road safety knowledge while enjoying the thrill of cycling.

Created by Barbara Koenen-Geerdink, a passionate cyclist and mother, ‘Go With The Floooow’ blends safety education with the fun of pedal-powered learning.

Children pedal around a controlled track on four-wheeled bicycles that mimic real-life traffic scenarios, gaining confidence and awareness in a safe, playful environment.

“As a mum and cyclist, I understand the importance of road safety, especially for young ones. ‘Go With The Floooow’ is all about building that confidence while encouraging an active lifestyle,” said Koenen-Geerdink.

With RTA’s support, the programme aligns with Dubai’s road safety goals and encourages private sector involvement in public safety efforts.

Operating every Saturday and Sunday at The Ripe Market, the programme also offers school visits during the week, aiming to reach 250,000 schoolchildren by 2026.

It’s more than just cycling; it’s a movement to help children stay safe, active, and ready to navigate the roads.

Saturdays, 7pm-9pm, Sundays, 9am-7pm. The Ripe Market, Academy Park. Private bookings are available during weekdays for birthdays, parties and school visits. For further information, visit ripeevents.com
