Pedal with purpose for Sparkle Cycle and Dubai Fitness Challenge

Cyclists At Al Qudra Cycle Track

The event kicks off in Dubai this weekend to support children and communities in Malawi

Dubai’s cycling scene is about to get even more heart-pounding as Sparkle Cycle 2024 revs up on 15-16 November as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge this month.

Set at the picturesque Al Qudra Cycle Track, this high-energy event invites cyclists of all levels to tackle distances from a casual 50 kilometers to a hardcore 500-kilometre ride, all to support The Sparkle Foundation’s impactful initiatives in Malawi.

Ready to pedal with purpose? Here’s everything you need to know!

Organised by CTF and inspired by the incredible resilience of founder Geoff Warr, who bounced back from a skydiving accident with a renewed mission to help others, Sparkle Cycle aims to bring Dubai together in a meaningful endurance challenge

With distances that collectively add up to the 5,000 kilometers from Dubai to Zomba, Malawi, riders are set on an epic journey to raise at least AED 100,000 for life-changing projects supporting over 15,000 people in Malawi.

Here’s the scoop: register solo or as a team for just AED 100 – enough to cover a month of food and education for a child in Malawi. The first 100 participants score a free t-shirt, F&B, and tips to turbocharge their fundraising.

Whether you’re in for one 50-kilometre lap or the ultimate 24-hour, 500-kilometer gauntlet, this event promises an unforgettable night of cycling, camaraderie, and contribution.

And on 16 November, a special family fun ride will hit the track, kicking off at 8am, complete with kid-friendly entertainment and F&B for a day to remember.

By taking part in Sparkle Cycle, riders will not only boost their fitness (fitting right into Dubai’s 30 by 30 Fitness Challenge) but also power The Sparkle Foundation’s ongoing efforts, which this year alone have supported children in Malawi with 46,306 hours of learning, 65,656 meals, 5,480 medical treatments, and services in 17 villages.

Geoff Warr, rallying all riders, says, “Join us on our very first Sparkle Cycle and help bring vital change to Malawi. Every kilometre counts, and no matter the distance you choose, you’ll be part of an unforgettable ride.”

So, dust off your bike, gather your squad, and prepare for an adventure that will make a difference; one pedal at a time.

Support Sparkle Cycle, and let’s turn every spin of the wheel into hope for Malawi!
