The changes, confirmed by Parkin PJSC, apply to key areas such as Al Sufouh 2, The Knowledge Village, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Internet City.
What has changed?
The biggest shift is in parking hours, which have been extended from 8am to 10pm, compared to the previous 8am to 6pm schedule.
Additionally, parking fees have increased, with motorists now paying:
- 30 minutes – AED 2
- 1 hour – AED 4
- 2 hours – AED 8

- 4 hours – AED 16
- 5 hours – AED 20

This marks a significant rise from the previous AED 2 per hour fee.
Variable Tariff Parking Policy
Dubai’s Variable Tariff Parking Policy is set to roll out by March 2025, introducing premium and standard parking rates based on peak and off-peak hours. Under this system:
- Premium parking spaces will cost AED 6 per hour during peak times (8am – 10am and 4pm – 8pm).
- Standard public parking will be AED 4 per hour during peak times.
- Off-peak hours (10am – 4pm and 8pm – 10pm) will remain at the standard rate.
- Parking will be free overnight from 10pm – 8am and on Sundays.
New event zone parking fees
Starting February 2025, parking rates in event zones, such as around Dubai World Trade Centre, will rise to AED 25 per hour.

Alongside the parking changes, Salik will introduce a dynamic toll system with adjusted rates based on traffic flow:
- AED 6 during peak hours (6am – 10am and 4pm – 8pm).

- AED 4 on Sundays, except for public holidays and major events.
Barrierless parking in major malls
Dubai has also started rolling out a barrierless parking system at major shopping malls.
City Centre Deira has already implemented the new system, with Mall of the Emirates set to introduce it next month, followed by City Centre Mirdif.
With these changes, motorists are urged to plan ahead to avoid unnecessary fines and adjust to the new pricing structure.
