As Ramadan approaches, Dubai’s public transportation services are adjusting their schedules to accommodate the spiritual month.
If you’re planning to attend Iftar gatherings in Dubai or catch the iconic cannon signals marking the start of the fast, here’s what you need to know about the city’s transport timings during Ramadan.
With the start of Ramadan expected on Saturday, 1 March the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed the operational hours for the Dubai Metro, providing commuters with a clear understanding of how travel times will shift during this special period.
In line with the spirit of Ramadan, Dubai’s public sector workers will also have the opportunity to work remotely or follow flexible working hours during the holy month. This new initiative aims to offer flexibility while ensuring productivity throughout Ramadan.

Dubai Metro’s operational hours will remain consistent throughout Ramadan, with slight changes to accommodate the city’s unique rhythm during the holy month. Below are the updated hours for the Red and Green lines:
Monday – Thursday: 5 am to midnight
Friday: 5 am to 1 am (the following day)
Saturday: 5 am to midnight

This schedule ensures that metro services are available early for those commuting for work or school, and later for those attending Iftar events and Taraweeh prayers.
Dubai Tram and Bus timings
In addition to the Metro, the Dubai Tram will also operate with adjusted hours during Ramadan. The tram will be available from:
Monday – Saturday: 6 pm to 1 am
Sunday: 9 am to 1 am
For those using Dubai buses, the RTA advises checking the S’hail app for the most accurate and up-to-date schedule. The app is also a useful tool for passengers to track routes and stops, ensuring a smooth journey across the city.
