A group of Dubai’s top developers steps up with a massive AED560 million to build and maintain mosques across the city

This is a story that is bound to warm the cockles of your heart – more so as it’s the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Dubai mosque game is getting stronger with a huge AED 560 million pledge from some of the biggest real estate developers in the city.

The likes of Emaar, Damac, Azizi, and others are all on board to fund the construction and upkeep of mosques in key locations, ensuring the community’s spiritual needs are met as the city grows.

The initiative, which has the backing of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is so much more than just a boost for religious spaces, it is in fact about maintaining Dubai’s rich cultural identity while pushing forward with its 2033 vision.

Here’s the breakdown of who’s doing what:

  • Emaar Properties is leading the charge with AED 280 million for 42 mosques, set to serve nearly 30,000 worshippers across nine areas.
  • Azizi Developments chips in AED 80 million to support three mosques, with room for 7,000 worshippers.
  • The rest of the developers – Damac, ORO 24, HRE, and Danube each pledge AED 50 million to fund mosques in different parts of the city.

It’s a win-win: developers play their part in supporting Dubai’s community while securing long-term sustainable spaces for worship.

And with Dubai’s cultural and spiritual growth in mind, this initiative is exactly the kind of forward-thinking partnership that reflects the city’s essence.

So, whether you’re walking through the streets of Dubai admiring the city’s Ramadan lights or just catching a glimpse from your window, know that these mosques are set to be pillars of peace and community for years to come.
