In his new role, Rodgers will help shape the school’s creative curriculum and inspire students to explore their artistic passions.

“Joining GEMS School of Research and Innovation as Special Advisor for Music and Performing Arts is an exciting opportunity to share my ideas, experiences and passion for music with the next generation,” said Rodgers.

“I believe in the power of education to transform lives, and I look forward to working with SRI to inspire students to embrace their creativity and pursue their artistic dreams.”

Rodgers has produced and performed on records that have sold over 750 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide. His distinctive sound helped define the disco era through his band CHIC and timeless hits like Good Times.

His career includes collaborations with a roll call of musical legends, from David Bowie and Madonna to Diana Ross, Daft Punk, Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Duran Duran.

The music icon joins a growing roster of high-profile advisors at SRI, including Lord William Hague, former UK Foreign Secretary and current Chancellor of the University of Oxford, as Honorary Patron, and Lord Sebastian Coe, Olympic gold medallist and President of World Athletics, as Special Advisor for Sports.
