Worshippers across the city to benefit from one hour of free access during prayer times
A new initiative set to launch this August will introduce a managed parking system across 59 mosques in Dubai, covering around 2,100 spaces.
This update is aimed at easing parking difficulties during prayer times and ensuring that worshippers have easier, more reliable access to nearby spots when attending mosque.
The new system is designed to create a more organised and accessible parking experience, particularly during peak prayer hours, when demand typically surges and available spaces are often limited.
Worshippers will now be able to enjoy one hour of free parking during prayer times; a move expected to reduce congestion, prevent misuse of mosque parking areas, and improve the overall flow of vehicles in surrounding neighbourhoods.
In its first phase, the rollout focuses on locations spread across the city, with selected mosques in both residential and commercial areas included.
These sites were identified based on high traffic and common parking issues experienced by regular visitors.

As the system comes into effect, worshippers will likely notice clearer signage, designated timings, and improved guidance around each mosque, making it easier to navigate parking before and after prayer.
This initiative reflects Dubai’s ongoing commitment to community wellbeing and smart urban planning, especially in spaces tied closely to daily life.
It also highlights a thoughtful response to long-standing concerns from residents who attend prayer regularly but often face difficulties finding a legal and nearby spot.
Though the parking remains free for worshippers for a set period, the structured management system ensures that the spaces are being used properly and not blocked or occupied unnecessarily during non-prayer times.
The hope is that this change will allow mosque-goers to spend less time looking for parking and more time focused on their prayers.
The implementation of this initiative begins in August 2025, with further developments and expansions potentially to follow based on public feedback and on-ground results.
More details will be shared at participating mosques and through community channels as the rollout begins.
