UAE to open up visit visas for all vaccinated tourists

Previous rules for unvaccinated passengers, including exempted categories, remain in place.

All vaccinated tourists who have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine approved for use by the World Health Organisation will be able to apply for UAE visit visas from Monday, 30 August, according to The Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).

The decision applies to citizens of all countries, including those arriving from those countries that were previously prohibited entry.

The WHO approved list includes Moderna, Covishield, Pfizer-BioNTech, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), Oxford/AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Sinovac.

The previous rules for unvaccinated passengers, including exempted categories, remain in place.

This comes as part of the country’s strategy to create a balance between “public health and the activities of vital sectors, in support of the national efforts to achieve sustainable recovery and economic growth”.

Travellers who want the benefits provided to vaccinated individuals in the UAE can register on the ICA platform or Al Hosn app.
