UK updated quarantine measures to affect UAE residents

Rules come into effect on 22 November.

Are you thinking of travelling to the UK?

Well if you have been vaccinated with the Sinopharm vaccine you will no longer have to self-isolate upon arrival.

Effective from 4am on Monday 22 November, those who have received two doses of the Chinese-manufactured jab will not have to spend 10 days in quarantine as well as conduct a pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test.

The news comes after the UK announced it will recognise all vaccines on the World Health Organisation’s Emergency Use Listing.

The vaccines included are Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford AstraZeneca, Moderna, Janssen, Sinopharm, Sinovac and Covaxin.

Fully vaccinated travellers from 135 approved countries including the UAE, can travel to the UK without the need for a pre-departure test, day eight test or self-isolation upon arrival.

Passengers from these destinations can conduct a PCR test on the day two.

Those travelling to the UK must book and pay for this Covid-19 test and complete a passenger locator form 48 hours prior to arrival
