Khabib Gym to open on Yas Island

The gym will cover some 1,500 square metres.

Get ready to unleash your inner beast as the first Khabib Gym is coming to Yas Island in 2022.

The gym inspired by the training of undefeated UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, will ring its first bell at West Yas Community and promises ‘a five-star fitness experience with world-class amenities’.

The gym covering some 1,500 square metres will offer gym-goers a range of martial arts disciplines including Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, Muay Thai, boxing and kickboxing as well as a specially-constructed MMA cage, swimming pool and padel tennis courts.

But if you don’t feel like rolling with punches, you can sidestep into cardio, cycling and fitness areas.

Located on the waterfront, the gym which will be run by Palms Sports, will also have a number of outdoor facilities including healthy dining and a relaxation pool with shaded cabanas.

Miral CEO, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, said on LinkedIn “by working with the Palm Sports, the leading niche sporting provider, this signifies another step towards cementing Yas Island’s position as a global destination for leisure, entertainment and business”.

The news is the latest piece of sporting good news for Yas Island with the upcoming hosting of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links Abu Dhabi at the end of the month and the confirmation of the extension of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix until 2030.
