New measure comes into effect 11 January.
Passengers from the UAE travelling to India will now have to quarantine at home after the sub-continental country impose tighter restrictions on arrivals at airports and other ports due to a rise in COVID-19 infections.
Effective from 11 January 2022, all international arrivals will be required to quarantine at home for a week before undergoing a rapid PCR test on day eight of their stay in India.
If the test sample returns a positive result, the traveller will be sent to a health institute to quarantine.

Only passengers from countries with a high incidence of COVID-19 cases will have to undergo a PCR test at their port of entry. However, two per cent of all arrivals from the UAE will be randomly selected for a PCR swab.
Children under five years of are age are exempt from both arrival and post-arrival testing unless they are found to be symptomatic for COVID-19.
