We’re continuing our health and wellbeing theme with the Terry Fox Run, which will help raise money in the fight against cancer on Friday January 19, plus we’re letting you know some dates for your diaries as we look ahead at the best fitness events coming up later this month. If you’d prefer to watch the action than take part, you’ll catch the world’s best golfers on the fairways at Abu Dhabi Golf Club until Sunday January 20, as they take part in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA. For our art and culture fans, Van Gough Alive kicked off at the Abu Dhabi National Theatre on Wednesday January 17. And finally, it’s your last chance to catch the action at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, which takes place in Al Wathba until Saturday January 27.
Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA
The world’s best golfers battle it out on the fairways at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA, from Thursday January 18 until Sunday January 19. There’s a huge range of entertainment and dining options during the event that the whole family can enjoy, plus the club’s instructors will be giving free lessons at the Top Golf station on the driving.
Van Gough Alive
Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture & Knowledge Development, art lovers will be able to view the Dutch post-impressionist’s most famous works during the multi-media exhibition Van Gough Alive. This fully immersive audio and visual show offers visitors a unique way to experience Van Gogh’s masterpieces from Wednesday January 17 until Monday February 26.
The Terry Fox Run
On Friday January 19, walk, run, ride or roll to help raise money in the fight against cancer and honour the legend that was Terry Fox. The Terry Fox Run is free and open to all participants. Simply click here to register. Participants are encouraged to donate if they are able to.
Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival
Coinciding with the dawn of the ‘Year of Zayed’, this edition of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival brings to life the local and global legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Visitors embark on a cultural voyage blending UAE and world heritage in an immersive, interactive collection of performances, pavilions and events. Held in Al Wathba until January 27.
