The Middle East Film & Comic Con announced for Abu Dhabi

The three-day festival will take place in March 2022.

It’s time to get your best cosplay outfits ready pop culture fans as the most popular film and comic convention is coming to the capital. 

Supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT), The Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) will be hosting three days of VIP meet-and-greets, talks, interviews and other thrilling event activations in March 2022.  

 

 

Previous editions have seen the likes of Jason Momoa, Zachary Levi, Benedict Wong, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Ezra Miller, Iwan Rheon, Tara Strong, Seth Green, Gillian Anderson and William Shatner flown in for the event. 

Tickets for the Comic Con will go sale later this year on mefcc.com.  

Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing at DCT, His Excellency Ali Hassan Al Shaiba said it was an honour for the city to host the event. 

HE Ali Hassan Al Shaiba said: “We are thrilled to be bringing MEFCC to Abu Dhabi for the very first time, as it gives us the opportunity to bring the fans up close and personal to all their favourite pop culture properties. 

“The event will no doubt provide awesome excitement to the well-established and loyal fanbase, and will prove to be a great addition to Abu Dhabi’s ever-expanding line-up of exciting events for 2022.  

“We regard it as a real honour for the emirate to become part of the Comic Con global family, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming Comic Con’s crowd to explore Abu Dhabi for the very first time.” 

The convention which was held in Dubai last year, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary of connecting fans with their favourite pop culture icons, local and international artists and showcasing cosplay parades and entertainment acts from Anime bands to alternative rock groups.
