The culture bus returns to tour the UAE.
It’s time to get the diaries out because Warehouse421 has a special lineup this spring season.
Celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadan, the culture centre will be offering a series of workshops, talks, performances and cultural tours throughout the UAE.
First up, two new exhibitions will be inaugurated including the first solo exhibit by Jill Magi, The Weft in Pencil and a NYUAD MFA Exhibition which showcases the projects and artworks of first-year MFA students at NYU Abu Dhabi inaugural class of 2023.
For the stargazers and poetry lovers, the Cl-u Market Series 11 offers the chance to indulge in these activities to the backdrop of live Oud and Qanoun music but if you prefer to really unleash your artistic juices, check out one of the plethora of workshops including pottery shaping, ceramic painting, kite making and more.
Talks this season will feature Mo Reda leading a discussion with emerging practitioners on the ins and outs of professional art practice, the challenges they face in developing their career and the necessary skills they find themselves relying on as part of The Outreach programme.
And for something really special, the famous culture bus is back for another tour of the UAE with art lovers enjoying the chance to hop aboard and visit Abu Dhabi’s Al Sadeem Observatory, a guided journey to the newly opened Museum of the Future and a walkthrough in the Jameel Arts Center and its exhibitions in Dubai, and a guided tour through Al Mureijah Square, Sharjah Art Foundation and Maraya Arts Center in Sharjah.
There will also be a guided walking tour by join Abu Dhabi-based creative Sultan Al Ramahi on around some of capital’s most iconic spaces along Hamdan Street and into Madinat Zayed.
Speaking on the announcement Faisal Hassan, Head of Warehouse421 said; “Spring is always an exciting time for us, and our events lineup reflects the diversity of interests our community has.
“We are in constant conversation with friends, partners, and the larger artistic community to understand their needs and our program is a testimony to that.
“We will also be observing the month of Ramadan this spring, so it was only appropriate to organise engaging activities that celebrate the spirit of the month.
“We have something for everyone, and we are looking forward to a very successful and exciting spring season.”
Warehouse421 has two exhibitions taking place with currently with Out of Range and Language is Migrant.
Out of Range is the first solo exhibition presented by artist Ammar Al Attar which explores the monotony of daily tasks.
Language is Migrant is presented in a collaboration between Warehouse421 and COLOMBOSCOPE.
