torn delves into the unpredictable nature of love and relationships in modern times
If you’re looking for a captivating theatre experience this October, torn is the play you can’t afford to miss.
Fresh off a successful run at the QE2, this steamy, fast-paced drama will be returning to The Fridge on 11, 12, and 13 October.
Written and directed by award-winning Australian playwright Alex Broun, and supported by Alexander Rondel, torn delves into the messy, unpredictable nature of love and relationships in modern times.
Set in present-day New York, the story follows four intertwined characters: Susan (Nadine Basiony), a lawyer; Cade (Osman Aboubakr), her advertising executive partner; Gerry (Basel Yafi), a voice-over artist; and Daniella (Kethy Kist), Susan’s PA.

As their lives collide, torn explores the impossible possibilities of love in a world where commitment is fleeting, and every choice matters.
With echoes of Patrick Marber’s Closer, this emotionally charged play promises laughter, heartbreak, and plenty of raw moments.
The Fridge will transform into an intimate theatre, seating only 70 people per show. You’ll be so close to the action, you’ll feel the tension; though no touching, please!
