Big news for UAE travellers flying to Mumbai

The measure comes into effect today.

Passengers travelling from the UAE to Mumbai will not have to undergo a seven-day home quarantine it has been announced.

The new measure that came into effect today (17 January) will mean travellers arriving into the state of Maharashtra will not have to take a PCR test on arrival.

The news follows India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s decision to introduce the mandatory quarantine period for all inbound travellers on 7 January.

Following this, a RT-PCR test was needed on the eighth day of arrival.

The Ministry introduced the measure due to the rise of the Omicron variant.
