REVIEW: Break your fast at LPM Restaurant & Bar

A memorable Iftar experience that is perfect for family gatherings this Holy Month

LPM Restaurant & Bar is a brilliant all-rounder. Whether you’re after a quick business lunch, date night, special anniversary dinner, or just fun drinks and nibbles on the terrace with friends, LPM doesn’t disappoint.

Sharing food with loved ones during Iftar is a meaningful tradition that brings people closer together. During the Holy Month of Ramadan, this award-winning restaurant, renowned for its sharing-style menu, embraces the spirit of togetherness with a special Iftar experience. Boasting a wide range of Mediterranean flavours, guests are treated to four courses: soup, dates, a selection of four starters to share, one main course, additional side dishes and one dessert.

Sitting at our table, we start the evening with their new mocktail, Mamri Fizz, a creative combination of orange and mint cordial, rooibos, vanilla tea, and lime juice. It makes for lip-smackable sips and teases the taste buds for what is to come. The soup and dates provide a traditional and refreshing start to the meal.

However, the starters are meant to be shared, so we all enjoy trying each other’s choices. As we gaze in delight at our table, laden with various dishes, the air is heady with delicious smells, and we savour everything at a leisurely pace. The burrata with cherry tomatoes and basil is a firm favourite, as is the warm prawns with olive oil and lemon juice. There are also salt cod croquettes with roasted pepper relish and a bowl lavishly filled with a creamy butter bean dip served with crunchy quinoa crisps.

LPM has refreshed its main course this year with their new dish, freshly grilled seabream, as well as keeping some of its well-known plates such as the marinated baby chicken and lamb cutlets with olive and aubergine, caviar and pine nuts. The latter is absolutely delicious. The meat is so tender that with each mouthful, it almost dissolves in my mouth to expose the flavoursome taste.

For those who want a vegetarian option, opt for the homemade rigatoni pasta, bursting with juicy tomatoes and warm chilli spice. For dessert, you can choose from a rich chocolate and hazelnut choux or their legendary crème brulee. They also have a new sweet treat on the menu; apricot pistachio filo pie, a scrumptious combination of juicy apricots and crispy pistachio.

Good food, good company, and good chat are often the best recipe for a memorable evening. Looking around us, diners are experiencing just that. From the fresh ingredients to the expertly crafted dishes and excellent service, every aspect of the restaurant is designed to provide an exceptional meal with family and friends. LPM’s Iftar menu is available daily from 6pm to 8pm.
