The Latin American restaurant has a few surprises up its culinary sleeve along with all the favourites you’d expect.
We all know that VaKaVa by Richard Sandoval at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers is the place to go for that vibrant Latin American cuisine once again.
But these days there’s even more! Oh don’t worry! All the style and great taste you’d expect from such a venue is on the menu, but now there is much more of it.
Rodrigo Araujo, VaKaVa Restaurant Manager, revealed how the menu has up to 80 per cent with new offerings that are now driven by grilled seafood.
Meat lovers, you can all breathe a collective sigh of relief as juicy steaks are still being grilled to perfection.
“We still have the steak touch, such as Brazilian and Argentinian beef,” explains Rodrigo. “However, seafood is a focus with a Ceviche concept, which is the first in region to do that, with a Latin touch.”
The actual restaurant itself is an architectural marvel. The singular, two-tier restaurant juts out into the sea.
The ground floor is where diners gather with friends to sample Latin American fare, and there is even a new terrace overlooking the sea.
Upstairs, it is party time, where guests can sway to the Latino beats as they gather for al fresco drinks and bites.
Rodrigo describes how the hybrid drinks’ menu is filled to the brim with mixes created from classic Latino recipes, many of which are now non-alcoholic.
For example the Michalada, which is a classic created from Mexican hops and tomato juice and seasoned well. It is the perfect accompaniment for a great sunset. You could, among many others, also try the Brazilian Batida mix, containing coconut, sweet condensed milk, lime and traditional cachaça.
The restaurant’s interior design is memorable with a fusion of colours and styles that gives a nod to each Latin American country.
And looking ahead, Rodrigo revealed that ladies’ nights and brunches are on the cards, which can mean only one thing… grab your cha-cha heels and get ready for some stylish Latino vibes!
