120 students honoured at the Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Quran Competition for 2024-2025

Dubai just witnessed an inspiring celebration of young talent and faith with the winners of the Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Quran Competition for School Students.

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum and in the presence of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ceremony was a proud moment for Dubai’s educational and cultural scene.

The competition, organised by the Dubai International Holy Quran Award and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), brought together 120 students from a diverse range of schools.

From Quran memorisation to beautiful recitation and Tajweed Text Memorisation, the event showcased students’ dedication to preserving and celebrating Islamic heritage.

What made this edition even more special? The impressive participation from 1,104 students across 32 schools in Dubai, representing 41 nationalities.

Young voices, from grades one to twelve, competed in categories that not only honoured their memory skills but also highlighted the true essence of unity, faith, and national pride.

The winners stood as ambassadors for Islamic values, with teachers, parents, and students all playing a part in this monumental achievement.

The competition also included 20 students with determination, five of whom took home top honours.

 Yalla’s take

This event proves that the younger generation is committed to preserving the values of the Holy Quran, no matter their background or age.

It’s a powerful reminder that knowledge, faith, and community are the real treasures.

With the combined efforts of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and KHDA, the competition showcased talent a true reflection of Dubai’s mission to foster unity, cultural exchange and respect for traditions.

If the enthusiasm and dedication we saw this year are any indication, the future of the UAE’s faith and culture is in excellent hands.
