Presented by Dubai’s first and only grass-roots non-profit musical theatre company for adults
They’re creepy and they’re kooky. Mysterious and spooky. They’re all together ooky… you probably know the rest and you’ve guessed it, The Addams Family musical comedy is heading to Dubai in June 2023.
The fab musical will be presented by Musical Theatre Dubai (MTDXB), which, following the success of their four previous sell-out shows, will be achieving the incredible accolade of being the first community theatre group in Dubai to stage a full-scale musical production, according to the press release.
With lyrics and music by Andrew Lippa and from a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, The Addams Family is a musical reimagining of the popular TV show and movies, first staged on Broadway in 2010 and has since become a worldwide smash-hit, having been performed to thousands of audiences to date.
And who can forget that catchy theme tune?
Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, is all grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows. She’s fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family.
With his cherished Morticia in the dark, will Gomez manage to keep his daughter’s secret until the two families meet for a fateful dinner?
In one strange, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams Family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change. We all know that nothing is going to be normal about this night!

Join Gomez, Morticia and Wednesday along with Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley, Grandma and a huge cast of ancestors, accompanied by a twelve-piece live band for a heart-warming (for those who have hearts) story of love, family and friendship…with a twist!
MTDXB’s cast of 50 performers will perform this family-friendly musical comedy to audiences in Dubai on 1, 2, 3 June at The Theatre, Sunmarke School, Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT), Dubai.
MTDXB was established in 2021 as “Dubai’s first and only grass-roots, non-profit musical theatre company for adults”, after husband-and-wife founders Bethanie and James Mitchinson identified a gap in the local theatre community for like-minded talent.
