August has arrived and while many of you are sheltering in the cool indoors, the UAE events schedule is hotting up.
From food festivals and pop concerts to epic cricket contests and volleyball firsts, the UAE’s events list is an exciting one for the month.
Here are six events to look forward to in the UAE in August.
5-7 August
Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival
Beginning on Friday 5 August, the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival will see more than 400 date farmers descend on the emirate to showcase their crops over three days. Enhancing palm trees as a symbol of Emirati culture, you can expect competitions for the best dates, honey, citrus fruits, lemon, mango, and almonds as well as Emirati folk performances.

The Not Just For Vegans Market
The Sportman’s Arms in Zayed Sports City is going green this month as The Not Just For Vegans Market sets up shop for the first time in Abu Dhabi. Faouzia
The Moroccan Canadian singing sensation Faouzia is taking her world tour to Dubai this month. The ‘Tears of Gold’ singer who has worked with David Guetta and John Legend will be bringing her musical stylings to The Agenda in Dubai Media City in what is expected to be a thrilling evening. 26-31 August
GCC Volleyball Cup
Six of the best ladies’ volleyball teams will be coming to Abu Dhabi to compete for the GCC Volleyball Cup. The inaugural edition of the competition will be held at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City and will feature three UAE sides; Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Team, Al Wasl Club and Sharjah Ladies Club.
26 August
Alan Walker
The Coca-Cola Arena will be filled with the sound of EDM as Norwegian DJ Alan Walker comes to town. Topping more than 15 billion audio video streams, the ‘Faded’ star will be performing alongside KSHMR who worked on global smash hits ‘Like a G6’ and ‘Tsunami’. 27 August – 11 September
Asia Cup
The biggest names in Asia cricket will be smashing sixes and removing bails from stumps at the end of August as the Asia Cup comes to the UAE. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will be joined by one other side to battle for the Asia Cup and the title of the continent’s finest cricket team for 2022.
