Dates, themes and all you need to know about the second MENA Oceans Summit

The Year of Sustainability is continuing in full swing across the UAE, with the latest event announcement adding to the green goals!

Returning for its second year, the MENA Oceans Summit championed by Goumbook is back on 10 June, coinciding with World Environment Day.

MENA Oceans Summit, under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, is the flagship event convening under the MENA Oceans Initiative, dedicated to accelerating the pace of comprehensive ocean action to restore ocean ecosystems, tackle climate change and ensure sustainable development of blue economies through a collaborative, cross-sectoral framework.

This premier event is the first dedicated forum in the MENA region focused on accelerating comprehensive ocean action.

As part of the event, you get to watch over 30 high-level speakers leading interactive discussions, and network with over 250 diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, scientists, businesses, and community leaders.

This year, the summit will be addressing critical issues facing our oceans under four key themes:

 

  • Blue Economy: Promoting sustainable development in our oceans.
  • Blue Governance: Strengthening frameworks for ocean protection.
  • Blue Science: Utilizing scientific research for effective solutions.
  • Blue Collective: Fostering collaboration for a healthier ocean.

 

Additionally, don’t miss out on the keynote speaker, H.E. Razan Al Mubarak, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion, COP28, and an opening address by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
