Go wild in the country
Al Wathba Wetland Reserve is open once again. Wildlife lovers can now head to the wetlands to discover Abu Dhabi’s birds, reptiles and plant life and all for free. The reserve is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays every week, from 8 am until 6pm, with the latest entry time at 4pm.

Park life
Staying with wildlife, head to Jubail Mangrove Park, walk the boardwalk and marvel at semi-aquatic mangrove forests that bridge life between land and sea. You’ll feel as if you are far away from city life yet in reality it’s just minutes away from Abu Dhabi city centre.

Future vision
Staying on Jubail Island, get your little ones in drawing the future of the UAE at ‘The Seed’ art installation on Jubail Island, Abu Dhabi.Children are being welcomed to decorate a collection of 20cm square blocks that will be stacked to produce a colourful wall of art.

The future beckons
If you can’t get enough of Jubail Island, you can now visit the centerpiece of the UAE’s official 49th National Day, ‘The Seed’, which is now an art installation named for the public to enjoy amid the mangroves from until January 30.

On ya bike
Head to Al Hudayriat Leisure and Entertainment District, which is arguably one of the top places in the city for cycling. You can choose between the 5km and 10km tracks depending on how much your legs can manage. The surroundings will probably take your mind off any saddle soreness.

Almost 40-years-old, and once known as Mushrif Park, Umm Al Emarat is now one of Abu Dhabi’s finest amenities.
