The ITU World Triathlon Series brings the very best of triathlon and entertainment to Abu Dhabi on 2 – 3 March 2018.
For the fourth consecutive year, Abu Dhabi will find itself the focus of world triathlon as it witnesses the first leg of the ITU World Triathlon Series on 2 – 3 March 2018. The ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi will kick off the global triathlon season with a fast and furious race between the world’s best triathletes, right here in the UAE’s capital.
In 2017, the women’s race saw an epic sprint finish between defending champion, Great Britain’s Jodie Stimpson, and New Zealand’s Andrea Hewitt – with Hewitt snatching victory in the nail-biting final moments. In the men’s race, five-time ITU world champion, Javier Gomez from Spain put on a stellar show to claim his first victory in Abu Dhabi, ahead of Great Britain’s Tom Bishop. Can Andrea and Javier defend their titles?
Alongside the elite race, 3,500 amateur athletes and tiny triathletes can choose from mulitple ‘age-goup’ race options, for their chance to race on the same course as Olympic and World Champions. Entries for age group athletes are now open with a special 10% earlybird discount.
