Internationally acclaimed turntable wizard Kid Koala turns his epic Robot Dance Party into a fun virtual playground for kids and their grownups.
Your family gets to create a groovy dance party at home, in two online dance parties.
The First Party: Build Your Robot Costume and Dance – Saturday, Sep 5 @ 4pm
Kid Koala streams an awesome hour of “Robot Build Music” – Tune in with your family and get creating. Your robot suits could be anything from earthly wonders to amazing creations from distant planets. Cardboard boxes, aluminum foil, googly eyes, straws, whatever supplies you find around your home – your imagination will be the guide as you create your costumes with Kid Koala’s musical inspiration.
Once your out-of-this-world creations are ready, film your robot grooving to Kid Koala’s robot dance track. If you share the 15 seconds of video with us, it may become part of the video accompaniment for The Second Party next month.
The Second Party: The Grand Reveal – Saturday, Oct 10 @ 4pm
Kid Koala and designer Corinne Merrell will turn videos from our audience‘s epic robot dance creations into an awesome montage for a second dance party. The video of our community dancing will be streamed to a live turntable medley of original robot dance grooves by Kid Koala. Gather the kids, get dancing, and look out for your creations in this world premiere, commissioned by The Arts Center.
