High-fashion inspired venue, Couture Lounge at Marriott Hotel Al Forsan, announces a limited edition event, ‘the art of jewelry making’ by award-winning designer, Lia Staehlin.
On Wednesday, 28th of August, Marriott Hotel Al Forsan will launch its first exclusive event in collaboration with award-winning jewellery designer, Lia Staehlin, running from 6.00pm to 9.00pm in high-fashion evening lounge, Couture.
Bringing together Couture Lounge classic cocktails and light bites, the event will include ‘the art of jewellery making’ class, conducted by Lia Staehlin. Teaching essential skills for unique jewellery creations, attendees will design and create their own unique keepsake whilst getting the opportunity to network with other guests from the local community.
Initially trained as a goldsmith in Germany, Lia is known for her iconic, fluid yet modern creations. Having completed an intensive goldsmith scholarship under master goldsmith Gudrun Haefner and jewelers Schwer, Lia was awarded ‘Best Goldsmith in Schwaben’. She is known locally for her work with a UAE princess, for whom she created a customized jewellery set for, inspired by her favourite flower. Her use of luminescent UAE pearls and clear white diamonds won her an award at the Dubai International Jewellery Week in 2012.
The event will cater to a limited number of attendees, so prior reservations are required. Buy one get one cocktails and house beverages will be offered for all guests visiting for the event and charges for the class will be minimal, at approximately AED 390 per person to cover the cost of materials.
