A family friendly staycation in the heart of Abu Dhabi city.
Choosing a staycation is never easy, but fortunately, there are so many family friendly staycation spots to choose from in Abu Dhabi.
And last week, one member of Team Yalla was able to take time away from the hustle and bustle of office life and spend with the family the perfect staycation spot in Abu Dhabi.
Being with the children meant the opportunity to experience one of Abu Dhabi’s beaches was a must, as well as, of course, a spot of retail therapy and, perhaps, a movie.
A tall order?
Ordinarily yes, but we knew there was a brilliant Abu Dhabi institution that while located in the very heart of the city, also provides beach access and quick access to the capital’s popular malls where shopportunities await and movie buffs can catch the latest blockbuster.
Beach Rotana is an established hotel, having been on the hotel scene in Abu Dhabi for many years and with a range of dining options that are well known and frequented by the Abu Dhabi community.
The hotel is superbly located in the centre of Abu Dhabi yet benefits from its very own beach club, including a great family pool and a well-equipped fitness centre, to keep our three teens extremely happy.
On top of that, Beach Rotana is connected to Abu Dhabi Mall, which has a strong retail offering.
Shopping was on our agenda and we even managed to fit in some great shawarmas (the children’s request!) and a movie at Vox Cinemas.
A superb offering
The rooms at the Beach Rotana have been updated and modernised and are all spacious with most having stunning views overlooking the channel and onto Al Maryah Island.
Nothing is too much trouble too.
Breakfasts are well catered for and the gem, in our opinion, is the Executive Lounge, which is charged at a daily payable rate. This conveniently allows those who do have to fit work around pleasure, the chance to peacefully work, with canapes, juices and tea and coffee served throughout the afternoon and after dusk beverages are evening canapes are served.
This is a really great addition to this fabulous city centre hotel and is something we would definitely include in our next stay.
