Serene views, stupendous brews, and a brand-new menu await gourmands at Drift Beach Dubai
With an expansive private beach, private cabanas, and a minimalist white and topaz aesthetic, Drift Beach Dubai at One & Only Royal Mirage is infamous for drawing in crowds looking for true indulgence and immaculate vibes.
Set against the backdrop of Palm Island Bay and Dubai’s iconic skyline, the restaurant now brings a glamorous new dinner menu to the emirate. An artful take on Provençal-inspired cuisine, the Executive Chef of DRIFT Beach Dubai, Chef Sylvian Noël has carefully curated a true gastronomic journey.
With the weather finally favourable to al fresco dining, the stage (or beachside) is set for an exquisite meal.
While the menu might seem like a mouthful, the dishes stand in sharp contrast as refined and elegant plates. The La Bisque au Homard, for instance, is the rich and flavourful pairing of lobster tortellini, Kristal caviar, and a hint of chilli oil in a dark umami broth.

Another raw starter to add to your order is the La Ceviche Fresh Seabass, complemented by a citrus-yuzu dressing, grapefruit, edamame and pickled kumquats. While the dish could benefit from more acid, the fresh and organic produce makes up for it.
A departure from the parties Drift Beach is usually synonymous with, the nights and new menu here are transformative, lending the place a tranquil Mediterranean charm.
On that note came the Le Cabillaud Mediterranean seabass, with a fish consomme, baby leeks and a saffron-madras sauce. It’s truly remarkable how simple, clean flavours in the hands of an expert chef can truly transport your palate to delightful shores.
We also sampled the Le filet de boeuf Wagyu beef, accompanied by mille-feuille potato and pepper jus. Order it medium-rare, there is simply no other way to savour what can only be described as pure decadence.
The desserts on the new menu came as a massive surprise, winning the entire meal for us. Diverging from the small yet sufficient portions of the previous courses, they are ample and then some!
The Pain Perdu is divine, featuring a dulce de leche, bananas, treacly dark rum, the crunch of toasted almonds and a delicate praline ice cream. It’s the holy grail of a good dessert, combining textures, complementary flavours, and the heartwarming comfort you want at the end of a brilliant meal.
In a happy coincidence, we ended up demolishing a dessert meant for three or more, i.e., the Le Mille-feuille. Rested atop a large wooden board, the dish is a multi-layered beauty, with luxurious Tahiti vanilla cream against a zesty berries compote and fresh raspberry.
The crisp pastry woven in is the perfect textural contrast, making every bite irresistible. Round off the meal with some brewtiful coffee, and it’s a night you will want to recreate more often than not. 10/10 would be recommended for a coffee and dessert run or simply an elegantly quiet night out.
