Teen baker stirs up change with sweet business for stray dogs

Meet aariana: the teen baker with a mission to save stray dogs

Seventeen-year-old Aariana Adnani’s homegrown brand, Baked By Aari, blends a passion for baking with a purpose

Dubai-based 17-year old student, Aariana Adnani has transformed her love for baking into a thriving homegrown business, Baked By Aari, creating and selling bespoke desserts that support charity.

Adnani built Baked By Aari from a place of passion and long hours of experimentation in the kitchen, driven by a desire to create the perfect feel-good treats that bring comfort to her community. What started as a creative outlet has now grown into a flourishing business.

Today, Baked By Aari delights customers with a delicious selection of handmade baked goods, from cupcakes and layered cakes, to cookies and cake pops.

Adani has been able to turn her baking passion into a business with a heart, with each dessert funding the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of stray dogs in India.

Committed to giving back, Adnani donates 25 per cent of all profits to support this cause, helping to provide dogs with a second chance of life. Proceeds also fund the administration of vaccinations, educational campaigns, pet-ownership workshops, and foster-care networks that aid in rehoming rescue dogs.

Since its launch, Adnani has raised over AED 15,000 to support the charity’s mission, through catering for private and corporate events, as well as from her regular customers.

Her long-term goal is to maintain a consistent and sustainable contribution towards the charity, for lasting impact.

To do this, Adnani is exploring options to host pop-up stalls and take part in local events, as a meaningful way to connect with Dubai’s communities and grow awareness of her venture.

“Canine welfare is a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart, and knowing my baking can help give stray dogs a second chance is what drives me.

“Social media has played such an important role in growing Baked By Aari, helping me reach a wider audience and build a community.

“Seeing happy customer reactions and knowing my cakes bring joy not just to people, but also to dogs in need, is the most rewarding part,” explains Adnani.

As a full-time student, Adnani successfully manages the demands of academics alongside running her self-funded business.

Although time management has been challenging at times, especially during exam season, she describes baking as her creative outlet and much-needed stress reliever.

What began as a childhood passion shared between sisters, has blossomed into a purpose-driven business with big dreams on the horizon.

With plans to expand her menu, introduce themed dessert boxes, partner with other brands, and deliver baking workshops, Adnani envisions Baked By Aari evolving into a small storefront: a more permanent space where her mission can come to life.
