Experience a perfect blend of Mediterranean elegance and modern flair at Novikov Café in Dubai Mall
What’s the recipe for a great trip to Dubai Mall? For starters, it involves a meal at Novikov Café.
Located in the luxurious Fashion Avenue, the contemporary-styled space is alive with the gentle humdrum of happy customers – encompassing everyone from families to couples.
Known for its Mediterranean-inspired menu, this brasserie delivers both elegance and flavour, all under the talented hand of Head Chef Riccardo Stevan. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear this isn’t just your average café pitstop; it’s a place where food, service, and style collide beautifully.
The ambience alone sets the tone – chic, modern, and buzzing with energy, yet with an intimate feel. With minimalist interiors and gorgeous views of Burj Khalifa and the fountains, Novikov manages to create an oasis of calm and class.
While the welcome bread basket is usually the unsung hero of every meal, it deserves a spotlight here owing to the fragrant warm bread and tangy tapenade combination.
As we sipped on our drinks, the meal began in earnest with Wagyu Tacos – the perfect opener to any meal. The tender wagyu was offset beautifully by a subtle hit of truffle, making every bite a decadent treat. Next up, the Calamari, served with citrus mayonnaise, was light, crispy, and delightfully moreish. It was hard not to dive straight into the whole plate immediately, but pacing yourself at Novikov is key to getting the most out of their expansive menu.

For the mains, we sampled the Trottole with salmon, chives, and caviar – a stand-out dish for me. Rich, creamy, and luxurious without being overly heavy, it managed to balance the freshness of the salmon with the indulgence of the caviar perfectly.
My partner savoured the Veal Scallopina, cooked to perfection and drizzled in a tangy lemon sauce. Tender and bursting with flavour, it felt like the perfect nod to traditional Mediterranean cooking with a modern twist.
The colourful dessert window in the cafe’s front had caught our eye upon entry, and made narrowing down tough. We opted for the Chocolate & Peanut Butter Fondant and the Warm Date Cake. The former was rich, gooey, and paired with a velvety double milk ice cream – it was indulgence at its finest.
The date cake on the other hand was a bit lighter, but with its dark caramel sauce and banana yoghurt ice cream, it was no less satisfying – the perfect palate cleanser after such a rich meal.
Overall, Novikov Café manages to elevate Mediterranean cuisine with thoughtful modern touches, while still respecting the heart of tradition. Whether you’re popping in after a shopping spree or simply looking for a dining spot that nails it on all fronts – from ambience to food – this café is one to put on your list.
