Team Yalla was at the Santé To The Weekend brunch at the ever popular Belgian Café in the InterContinental Abu Dhabi.
With the temperature at optimal levels, the place to sit is outside on arguably Abu Dhabi’s most impressive terrace with stunning unimpeded views of the capital’s skylines replete with a massive mega-screen for sports and a stage for live performers.
Try to get your seat close to the marina for the best views and also the shortest distance from the live cooking stations, whose location means the light breeze blows the food’s aroma towards the seats of the guests, tempting them into a visit.
Before your trip to the little gastronomic hubs, a range of appetisers are delivered to your table where you can tuck into a charcuterie board of various licenced meats and cheese as well as a full bucket of an assortment of seafood including prawns, crabs, calamari and more.
Once you have polished off the warm-up dishes, head to the live cooking stations for the mains. Cast your eye over the likes of slabs of beef, salmon coulibiac (salmon wellington), mini beef sausage rolls, roasted baby chicken and wonderful slices of freshly made pizza.
You can visit the cooking hubs as much as you wish between 12.30pm to 4pm but Team Yalla would advise readers to take a break and save some room for something sweet while you listen to the sounds of Claudia Lang-Lenton.
Cool off with a scoop of ice-cream from the ice-cream van or reward yourself with an indulgent Belgian chocolate dessert to stop any quivering from the sweet tooth.
Truly a serene experience, the only difficulty you will face is when the clock strikes 4pm and if you have to decide whether to pull yourself from the chair to head indoors to the lively atmosphere or continuing soaking up beautiful views and chilled out vibes.
