The new ‘Mental Health Framework’ will provide quality care, support and counselling

We all know that in the modern world mental health is one of the hot topics around in healthcare, and now the Dubai Health Authority are taking steps to ensure that people have the help they may need.

DHA has unveiled the ‘Mental Wealth Framework,’ a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the mental health of Dubai residents.

With a substantial investment of Dh105 million ($28.5 million), this comprehensive framework will roll out ten initiatives over the next five years, forming a key part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.

The framework is designed to establish a robust model of mental health care. It focuses on early detection, intervention, improvement, and prevention, catering to all societal segments.

Special initiatives are in place for the early identification of mental and emotional health factors, ensuring quality care, support, and counseling to enhance psychological well-being and community stability.

The framework also emphasises the educational sector, empowering school personnel and parents to foster students’ psychological resilience.

Aiming to elevate satisfaction and happiness levels among community members, the initiative promotes research and innovation for evidence-based decision-making.

Studies will focus on vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, people of determination, and those with chronic illnesses.

DHA director-general Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi highlighted that the framework is guided by the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to advance Dubai’s status as a leading global city.
