Abu Dhabi Science Festival November 9 – 18

The Abu Dhabi Science Festival returns from November 9 – 18 in two fantastic locations; Khalifa Park and Al Ain Zoo. Discover the world of science, get creative with problem solving, and even build a robot- whether you want to learn more about the world around you or try your hand at some cool experiments, you’ll be sure to find something scientifically fun at this year’s ADSF!

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, The Abu Dhabi Science Festival is a globally awarded strategic initiative organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). ADSF supports the development of science and technology sectors in the capital, in line with the Abu Dhabi Plan and the UAE Innovation Strategy. The aim of the event is to spark the imagination of the nation’s youth in science and technology, encouraging them to pursue STEM subjects throughout their education and career choices.

Now in its 7th edition, ADSF is one of the biggest annual science festival’s in the region. The 10-day festival attracted more than 120,000 visitors in 2016, and has been attended by more than 700,000 visitors since its inception.

ADSF 2017 will showcase exciting, engaging and educational activities for the whole family to enjoy: from fun workshops to interactive exhibits and spectacular shows. Bursting with hugely popular returning content and featuring exciting additions, ADSF 2017 will be running at full capacity from day one. Parents are advised to check the programme and book tickets online to avoid long queues and ensure space availability.

This year, ADSF welcomes visiting students through its hugely successful school tour program. The festival’s programme has been designed to complement the national science curriculum, in addition to ADEK’s key innovation initiatives and the journey of discovery.

Hundreds of science communicators comprised of higher education students and ADSF alumni from local universities will also be recruited and trained by world-class experts from the Edinburgh International Science Festival (EISF), our programming partner, to deliver this celebration of science in ways that excite and engage the next generation of scientists, technologists and innovators.
