Since opening their doors in 2007, Little Smarties Nursery & Preschool pride themselves on providing exceptional care and education for children, as well as helping them create a solid foundation that sets the benchmark for their continuing education and development throughout the years.
The Little Smarties philosophy incorporates happiness and a joy for learning, taught and practiced through play. The children begin to gain their independence by being part of a caring community throughout their time at Little Smarties Nursery & Preschool.
The experienced and committed staff provides high quality learning experiences through a broad balanced early years curriculum, based on play and communication. Self-esteem and confidence are fostered along with respect and tolerance is developed through interaction and co-operation. The villa setting provides a homely environment for children’s first experience of school and is surrounded by a large outdoor play space, which is used on a daily basis.
The outdoor space includes an Organic Garden where the children can learn about the cycle of life and observe the plants grow throughout the year. The new Splash Play area also adds a lot of fun to a child’s day at the nursery.
As more and more studies are coming to light about the benefits of extra languages on cognitive development for preschool aged children, the Little Smarties receive language lessons every day for half an hour, three times a week. Children are taught Arabic and twice a week, French.
The nursery and preschool’s staffing ratios comply with the UK’s Children’s Act Regulations and the guidelines set by OFSTED in the UK. Throughout the nursery, the team uses the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to guide their practices with the children.
Little Smarties Nursery & Preschool accept children from two months to four years old. The regular school hours are from 8am – 2pm, with extended hours in the morning and in the afternoon (up to 5.30pm) available to those who need it.
