For the 2020/21 academic year, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi invites talented students entering Year 7 and above to apply for Academic, Sports, Visual Arts, STEM or Performing Arts scholarships.
Designed to broaden access to the school’s award-winning educational model, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi wants to attract and support talented students who show passion and potential in their chosen field. The school is particularly keen to award scholarships for exceptional candidates wishing to join their Sixth Form (Year 12 applicants).
Selection criteria varies depending on the award, but strong evidence of achievement and potential is essential. Candidates must be currently performing at a high level and able to demonstrate independence of thought, enthusiasm for their area of excellence and a desire to grow and develop.
Michael Wilson, School Principal, goes on to explain: “Scholars set a superior level of performance and expectation for other students to emulate. With that comes the momentum that elevates standards across the curriculum and other areas of school life. This, in turn, creates an exciting ‘can do’ attitude within the community as a whole. We are interested to meet, and bring on board young people, who are ready for the challenge.”
Prachet Poddar, a Year 9 pupil is currently a Cranleigh Abu Dhabi Academic Scholar. He says, “Since I have become a scholar, I have started working harder and become more confident. It gives me a constant goal to strive towards, making me persistent and resilient. I have also started participating more in extra-curricular activities as well as academics. I have also enjoyed the added responsibility of giving guidance to aspiring scholars.”
The Cranleigh Abu Dhabi scholarship programme is merit-based. The initiative ensures more pupils have the opportunity to benefit from the calibre and breadth of education offered at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, enabling gifted pupils to fulfil their potential within a professional, supportive framework.
For external applicants, please apply via the online system, with an accompanying email sent to [email protected] registering interest in applying for a scholarship. Full admissions information must be submitted before progressing with Scholarship applications.
