If you’re looking for something special to do over the summer, then a beach day at Emirates Palace is just the answer; with a dreamy 1.3km stretch of golden-sanded beach, two lavish pools to choose from (one that is adults-only if you’re looking for a kid-free escape!), and a 6km cycle path to explore the landscaped grounds of the palace- get ready to swoon…
The Beach...
Step onto the beach at Emirates Palace and you could easily be forgiven for thinking that you’ve somehow been transported to a luxurious Maldives-esque island. With views of the Palace, Abu Dhabi’s city skyline, and the dazzling marina, the 1.3km stretch of golden sands is nothing short of impressive- and then some.
Step back in time and wander around the traditional bedouin tent, or take a ride on the Palace’s friendly camels.
There’s also an opportunity to participate in complimentary water sports, including kayaking and paddle boarding, and if you’re looking for a bit more of an adrenalin rush, then there’s motorised options too that you can pay to use.
The Pools...
There are two pools to choose from at Emirates Palace- the East and the West.
The West pool is a haven for families, with slides, bridges, and waterfalls, whilst the East pool is strictly adults-only and a totally tranquil place to relax. Our highlight of the East pool was most definitely the water hammocks- suspended just on top of the water, we quite literally could have stayed there all summer long. A close contender though was the jacuzzi pool. Shaded and with views over the beach, it’s the perfect spot to melt your stresses away after a hard day of relaxing (are we making you jealous yet?!).
Almost as impressive as the pools is the journey between them- hop on to a free bike and take in the views of the Palace and its dazzling Arabic-inspired architecture, and look out over the water to the city backdrop behind it. Around the resort is a 6km cycle path for you to explore the landscaped grounds of the Palace and this is a definite must-do whilst you’re here. (Word of warning- you’ll find so many instagram-able spots on your cycle tour around Emirates Palace, but just make sure you hop off the bike before trying to snap away- otherwise you could end up like us and not-so elegantly jumping off before you fall!)
Time For Lunch...
When it’s time for lunch, Las Brisas (which aptly translate from Spanish to Breezes), is the perfect spot. Situated at the edge of the pool at the East Beach Club, here you can relax in the gentle summer breeze with a bite to eat from the extensive menu. There’s everything from healthy salads to pizzas for meat-lovers, and the detox salads come paired with a fresh coconut which is always a (very) welcome refreshment in the Abu Dhabi heat.
