For 25 years, the International Business Women’s Group has been helping women advance their careers, gain valuable workplace skills, and bond with like-minded women. In 2018, it opened up its membership to men and, ever since, men have been clamouring to gain access to this elite collection of career women and their collective career wisdom.
Gulizar Jonian chairs the group and has been passionately promoting it for 15 years. One thing is sure: there’s little stopping Gulizar from achieving the grand plans for the members of the group.
“There weren’t many women leaders in the construction trade when I got here late seventies, I had to work harder than my male colleagues to assert myself” explains Gulizar, an architect by trade. “I joined IBWG as I saw it a good networking platform to meet likeminded professional women and exchange experiences. I believe in motivating, empowering and energizing women to reach their true potential. It’s good to pay forward and make a difference.”
What is the IBWG?
The International Business Women’s Group (IBWG) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1994. We offer excellent networking opportunities through monthly talks, workshops and seminars to promote and advance the capabilities of professional women. We are made up of a Board of Directors and an Administrator, and our membership is open to women and men of all nationalities doing business in the UAE.
