Local Inventor delivers artful design solutions to expat homes and gets glowing reviews for his EZ Shades
Expats aren’t always long for the UAE, so they may not want to invest in a fully designed home as they would in their home countries. Though you might not want to drop a few thousand on furnishings, finally there is a cheap and cheerful alternative to those bare lightbulbs many expats have on their high ceilings: EZ Shades.
Local businessman and entrepreneur Bryan Wholehan had lived in the UAE for eight years when he devised and brought to market EZ Shades. He wondered why so many people he knew had exposed lightbulbs in their homes, which he found, firstly, very unsafe and, secondly, displeasing from an aesthetic point of view. Why wasn’t there a solution to this in any hardware store he visited.
“Prior to inventing EZ Shades,” explains Bryan, “the only way to cover those bulbs was both expensive, difficult and generally required a handyman to come in and install a lighting solution. I devised EZ Shades to be a lighting solution for every man and woman no matter what your budget is or your whether or not you own a tool bag. With no wiring or tools required, even a child can install an EZ Shade.”
EZ Shades come in a range of tasteful colors, affordable price points and sophisticated styles, and every single one is easy to install. They can be purchased directly from the EZ Shades website or on Souq.com.
“In bringing EZ Shades to life and to market, the most important things to me were that they were shatterproof, affordable, easy to install and, most importantly made entirely in the UAE of recycled products.” Brian adds, “EZ Shades are a prime example of necessity being the mother of inventions, born of need, and made in the UAE.
