New Season of Activities Announced at Louvre Abu Dhabi

Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced a packed season of activities with exciting new tours, workshops, and exhibitions to look forward to.

Children’s Museum

The new Children’s Museum exhibition, Animals: Between Real and Imaginary, focuses on the representation of animals in all periods of art history and across eras and regions. Children and their parents will be introduced to the variety of materials and techniques used by artists to represent both real and imaginary animals.

Running alongside the latest children’s exhibition will be Animal Footprints. Every Thursday and Saturday at 4pm from 6 September 2018 until 30 June 2019, children will be able to follow the footprints of the animals and discover the meaning and representation of animals in art.

Japanese Connections

Louvre Abu Dhabi’s second exhibition of 2018, ‘Japanese Connections: The Birth of Modern Décor’, will open on 6 September and will be accompanied by a creative youth space and public programming that celebrates Japanese culture.

Guided tours are available daily from 3pm in which you’ll discover masterpieces from a pioneering group of post-impressionist artists, alongside the prints from the Japanese masters Hiroshige and Hokusai which inspired them.

Manga Lab

Located in Louvre Abu Dhabi’s forum, the Manga Lab will be a creative and experimental space for teenagers and young adults offering a variety of entertaining experiences to explore contemporary Japanese culture, including virtual reality, retro arcade gaming, a graffiti and expression wall, a chill-out reading area, and a series of masterclasses and workshops that highlight the links and influences of traditional Japanese art on modern-day Manga and Anime.
