The festive season is well and truly underway in the Capital, so if you’re looking for things to do in Abu Dhabi this weekend, you’ll definitely be spoilt for choice! There are so many fun family events taking place across the Emirate- from the opening of the Qasr Al Hosn to traditional Christmas markets. The famous Swiss Christmas market kicked off this week at the Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi. Finish off your Christmas shopping and end the day with a festive treat at the Brauhaus. Open until Saturday, 8 December until 10pm.

Tree lighting ceremonies mark the beginning of the festive season. This weekend, see the beautiful Christmas tree come to light at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. Enjoy an evening filled with Christmas caroling, kids’ activities and live entertainment. Bring your family and friends to join this fun festive gathering!

The grand opening of the lovingly restored Qasr Al Hosn will be on 7 December with many special events to mark the occasion. The official launch will be a celebration of Abu Dhabi’s rich history and culture, with special events of public programming to mark the occasion.

Visit Louvre Abu Dhabi this week as they launch the Annual Rain of Light Festival from 11 December. The week-long performing arts festival launches to celebrate Louvre Abu Dhabi’s architecture and the second cultural season of the museum, “A World of Exchanges”. The festival will include both free and ticketed concerts, traditional dance and music, street dance battles and street art performances.
